Target 40min!!!! I finally completed my bandom podfic rec post, that took on a life of its own! \o/ I finally made a start and recorded 30min of the prequel to my Bandom Big Bang podfic! I spent 10min trying to figure out how the hell I was going to manage recording something that is like 90% Gerard/Gerard, but in the end I decided to just hit record and see how it turns out in the end.
Did my 30 minutes of editing(as usual late at night but I've worked a lot of hours over the last couple of days)
Plus, bonus time by listening to a WIP podfic for quality control while I was driving around for work and caught a repeated phrase, which is now fixed.
Managed to record, edit, make a cover for and upload a 15min Sherlock BBC podfic \o/ I really love this story, but I don't think I'm a good match for it OTL The gravitas and emotional depth of the story doesn't really come across in the way I read it I think.... :'(
All in all it probably took an hour altogether, not counting all the time I got distracted by shiny posts on the internet and gifs of The Hunger Games...
I decided to take a day off from podficbigbang and work on two short fun things, but I had a really hard time. Spent over an hour trying to record but I kept having to stop because the fan was making so much noise, and I made so so many mistakes, and at one point found out I'd forgotten to hit the record button 20 minutes back, so I'd been talking for nothing. I think I ended up with about 25 minutes of recording which will probably come down to about 15 once I edit.
Still, managed to go back and edit and post the shorter piece, which is not fic or even really meta. I'm comfortable counting it for this comm but not sure about whether I should post to amplificathon: There are some things I need to tell you.
Cruel fate! But sometimes a rerecord can be so amazing, y'know? Lik,e you get so much less wrong when you know where your problem areas are going to be before they happen.
That's my philosophy! You can worry and angst over things for ever, but then you'll get nothing done! I am in favour of planning, but sometimes you can plan so much it turns into avoiding.
This is yesterday... Yes. Yes. Yesterday I test read a new fic, agonized over the possibility of dropping my Podfic Big Bang claim on account of I fell out of love with the story, and stared hopelessly at Photoshop for a while thinking about cover art. OH and I wrangled myself a beta listener. Probably about 45 minutes of work? :D
I have been there, falling out of love with a story, and I just had to let the author know that I wasn't happy with how the podfic sounded and could I perhaps put it on hold? The author was brilliant and I still have that story in my WIP queue... I might be working on it right now, actually. ;)
I look at my Ipod and make a note of the approx time of the goof. Usually I write it down on a piece of paper or little notebook, but for that one, since it was almost at the end of the file, I just remembered it.

May I ask how you note the parts that need fixing when you are listening for quality while driving? (sorry, I'm such a snoop, lol)
